Way back in 1990 these 419 scams were done by fax. I received one and faxed back suggesting he try my former psycho boss. I promptly forgot about it. I found out years later that my former boss fell for a 419 and lost his business and everything else. I am not sure if it was MY scammer who took him but I sure hope so.

I thought I was the only one "dirty enough" to turn the tables on these poor people.
Got one of these letters last year and knew what it was when I first looked at it. I replied with gusto and began trying to plot out just how "we" could best tranfer the 150,000,000 dollars into the U S. After severa weeks, I suggested we try a very simple step to "probe" the possibility of simply sending the funds in small units thru pay pal. With a little prompting, they bit and sent $10,000 to my account.
Guess what, I transferred the money to several new bank accounts and closed that account real quick. Well, I have no idea what may have happened to these guys and don't really care. I figure if they thought they were cleaver, they found out the cold hard truth.
